Hi, I’m Tom Nasca.
I’ve always had a passion for making things, problem solving and materials. While pursuing my BFA in Photography from
SUNY New Paltz, I learned of the perfect outlet for my love: Industrial Design. Now I am finishing up my MFA thesis remotely at
RIT and looking for full-time work.
I grew up in the Hudson Valley, and began making things from a very young age. It started with taking objects apart and modifying them, and progressed until I was making acoustic guitars and darkroom photographs.
I pursued photography in my undergraduate studies, but my desire to make physical objects led me to learn many more crafts and processes. During my studies, I learned about industrial design and began applying to schools.
At RIT, I learned that industrial design is more than a field of object creation. It is a study of problem solving, people, interaction, technology, collaboration, and our impact on the planet through physicality and mass production. It's a field where differences can be made, and where learning never stops.
